I went on one date with a girl that was going through school to be a pilot and it was super alarming. She still flies today and that's not safe for anyone.

I remember my first solo. I was so enthralled I left the pattern and did a little flying. My instructor asked me where I was. I told him I was returning to the pattern. After landing, he asked me what I was doing. I said. You only have 1 first solo and I was enjoying it. He laughed and said I knew you were a great pilot and wish all my students were as comfortable, but you still scared the crap out of me. 😂👍😎🇺🇲

That controller did a great job of keeping her calm. She need some more time with an instructor untill she has the confidence.

Little concerned the instructor signed her off for solo. You don’t just look for technical skill level when signing off a student, but you have to assess things like confidence in the tasks, and overall sense of comfort in the maneuvers. Assessing thr mindset is as important as the minimum hours and technical expertise to do it. A lot of students are signed off way too soon. Everyone is a bit nervous their first solo, but then there people who really are not emotionally or psychologically ready…

I don't think I should've *gone* today. Obviously, she has learning issues and may want to chose another hobby.
